With sunshine in the air and the scent of fried rice and cotton candy floating in the breeze, last Saturday's Shelton Farmer's Market had the perfect atmosphere for celebrating Kid's Day. Veronica and I had barely opened our binder and set out our brushes and paint before the first trickle of children arrived, eager to choose their design for the day.
Once those first few faces were completed, it seemed nearly all the children in Shelton arrived to partake in the day's festivities! Fueled with the deliciousness of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, we painted and laughed and talked all the way until the Market bell jingled to signal its close five hours later.
People of all ages flocked around our booth to get their faces painted, picking designs and colors as unique as the individuals who selected them.
