We had a wonderful debut at the Girlfriend's Winter Market! It rained cats and dogs all through setup and for much of the event, but the dismal weather outside seemed to make the indoors even more cozy. With the glow of Christmas lights, delightful music humming in the background, the scent of freshly cut pine boughs, and the oh-so-indescribable deliciousness of freshly made chocolates melting in our mouths, my girls and I explored this gem of an event. There was a beautiful hand-picked selection of booths, with an amazing assortment of Christmas treasures, making it almost effortless to find gifts for everyone on one's list. But what made my day was a lovely woman who waited in line until I had helped all my customers just to tell me, tears streaming down her face, that she had had lunch with her daughters and was so blessed to have been able to meet us. She wanted me to know how nice it was to have a lunch with my daughters. Once again I'm reminded that every day there is a gift and we should never take our family for granted, because we never know when we might be separated by the miles or continents.
